When I took Mind Files to health and wellness expos, many people asked me why I didn't include more of my personal story in the book.
At the time, I didn't think that anyone would want to read the details of my trauma. I thought sharing how I began my healing journey was more important than writing about the sexual abuse and other trauma I experienced in my childhood.
After much consideration, a lot more study into the long-term consequences of trauma, and in conversations with people in the mental health community, I realized that sharing my story might provide hope to others who have experienced similar trauma. Maybe they will find the courage to begin to talk about their own experiences for that is when we begin to heal.
I chose Substack as the blog platform to share my story. Click on the link below to find it!
